Driver Arrested After Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident In Lancaster

Devin Downour has been arrested after she failed to stop for a red light and caused a multi-vehicle accident that led to the death of a motorcyclist. According to reports, the Columbus car accident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening at the intersection of Main Street and Ewing Street. Downour was traveling southbound on Ewing Street when she allegedly ran a red light. At this time, her vehicle struck a motorcycle that was traveling eastbound on East Main Street. Downours vehicle continued southbound through the intersection and hit another vehicle head-on, being driven by Allie Wright. The cyclist, James E. Lowe, died as a result of his injuries. His passenger, 7-year-old Hailey N. Derbyshire, was flown to Nationwide Children's Hospital where she remains in critical condition. They were both wearing helmets. Two other people were transported from the scene to a local area hospital while Wright and her passenger were treated at the scene. Downour was charged and arrested with operating a vehicle under the influence. Further charges are pending.
