DUI Suspected In Deadly Bracken Co. Crash

Authorities say alcohol is a key factor in a deadly accident in Bracken County which remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police. When you've been injured by the negligence of a drunk driver, it can turn your world upside down. If you or someone you love has been injured in an auto accident caused by a driver under the influence, we can help you get the compensation you deserve. Kentucky State Police say Mathew Gilbert was driving northbound on KY-539 when he lost control of his Dodge pickup truck. Officials say one person was killed and several people were injured when Gilbert's car slid off the interstate and crashed into a tree. Officials say the truck spun around several times before slamming into a tree on the drivers side. While one person died at the scene, authorities say five other people were taken to the University of Cincinnati and University of Kentucky Medical Centers and treated for serious injuries. Among other charges, Gilbert was cited for driving under the influence, not wearing a seat belt and failure to produce an insurance card. Officials say he could face more charges following a thorough investigation.
