Harley-Davidson Recalling More Than 66,000 Motorcycles

Popular motorcycle manufacturing company Harley-Davidson is recalling more than 66,000 motorcycles from the 2014 model year because the front wheels may lock up without warning. Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles with anti-lock brakes built between July 1, 2013 and May 7, 2014 are included in the recall. According to the manufacturer, the front brake line could get pinched between the fuel tank and the frame which could cause front brake fluid pressure to increase and thus increase the risk of the front brake wheel locking up. Harley-Davidson is aware of five motorcycle crashes and two minor injuries related to the defect. Additionally, the company was aware of the defect through warranty claims last fall. The company intends to notify owners affected later this month and will require dealers to replace the brake lines for free as well as attach straps to hold them in place.
