Teen Dies After ATV Rollover Accident

Trent Myers, a 13-year-old boy from Rising Sun, Indiana, has become the 12th person to die to an ATV accident in Indiana this past year. Myers passed away on Sunday at Cincinnati Children's Hospital following an ATV accident that occurred on Saturday in Switzerland County. According to the Switzerland County Sheriffs office, there were six people on the ATV and no one was wearing a helmet. If you or someone you love was involved in an ATV accident contact the experienced Cincinnati personal injury lawyers today for a free legal consultation. A family friend was driving the Polaris Ranger when suddenly the driver took a sharp turn and the ATV rolled and pinned Myers underneath. As the accident was on private property, family members were able to get Myers out from underneath the ATV. Emergency medical services arrived and he was airlifted to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The other passengers sustained minor injuries and no charges are being filed against the driver. So far, 240 people have been injured in more than 200 ATV accidents across Indiana. In Ohio, seven people have died in ATV and snowmobile accidents. Although wearing a helmet while riding on an ATV is not required, it is advisable that drivers and passengers wear one to protect themselves. Have you or someone you love been injured in an ATV caused by a careless driver? Did you know that victims of such accidents may be entitled to file a claim for damages? At O'Connor, Acciani & Levy, we understand how dangerous ATVs can be. When you're injured or lose a loved one in an ATV accident, we can help you get the justice you deserve.
