A 14-year-old girl was fatally struck by a school bus near East High School in Mahoning County on Wednesday afternoon. The girl, whose first name has been revealed, was a freshman at the high school. Witnesses said the girl was rolling down a nearby hill while playing with a friend. The girl stopped rolling on the sidewalk, as did the bus, but then the vehicle continued forward. After the girl stood up, she fell to the street and was hit by the bus. The horseplay caused the girl to become disoriented. The bus driver tried to swerve to avoid hitting the girl, however, the girl died immediately of head injuries. No charges have been filed and the case remains under investigation. The victims father questions whether his daughters death was a preventable accident. The attorneys at O'Connor, Acciani & Levy extend their deepest condolences to the McCullough-Wooster family. If you have lost a loved one due the careless actions of another driver, you may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim.
