Security Guard Crashes Car Into Bethesda North Hospital

A security guard crashed his vehicle into a building at the Bethesda North Hospital campus around 6:40 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29. Officials said no one was in the building, which is not attached to the hospital, when the crash occurred. It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle when it crashed down a hill and into a window of an empty medical office. The vehicle remained suspended above the ground as it landed directly in the window frame of the office. According to reports, officials had to help remove the crash victim from the vehicle. The driver, whose name has not been revealed, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. More than 40,000 motor vehicle accidents in Ohio occurred as a result of a driver failing to control their vehicle in 2013. Loss of vehicle control can occur for a number of reasons, including a driver overcorrecting behavior in order to avoid in accident.
